New CD with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London with works by Swiss composer Fabian Müller for ARS Produktion

The award-winning German label ARS Production released recently a CD with the orchestral works "Eiger", "Concerto for Orchestra" and "Dialogues Cellestes", a double concerto for two cellos and orchestra by Swiss composer Fabian Müller. The latter was composed at the suggestion of Antonio Meneses and was premiered in 2009 with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra TPO under the direction of Claude Villaret with Antonio Meneses and Pi-Chin Chien.

24 / 25.01.2014: "Swiss Music Night" with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO) and the soloists Pi-Chin Chien, cello and Galina Vracheva, piano

For the 3rd time the TPO realized a "Swiss Music Night" under the direction of Claude Villaret and in collaboration with the Swiss Embassy in Bangkok. This year on the program were the Ballade for Piano and Orchestra by Frank Martin, Schelomo for Violoncello and Orchestra, Chant d'Adieux by Jean-Luc Darbellay and the second Symphony of Johannes Brahms.

New CD of the piano concertos by Clara and Robert Schumann; Patricia Pagny, Piano, Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, published by NOVALIS

With this CD, the long-standing cooperation between Claude Villaret and the Alsatian pianist Patricia Pagny goes on. The CD include Clara Schumann's Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 7, and also her "Konzertsatz" in F Minor as well as Robert Schumann's Piano Concerto in A minor Op 54.

World Premiere of the cello concerto "Sirimadi» by an ancient Thai- Buddhist tale is now on Youtube

2011/12 the Swiss Embassy in Thailand celebrated 80 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. As part of this anniversary, Fabian Müller wrote a new cello concerto for the "Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra" and it had its world premiere on 1 and 2 June 2012 in Bangkok in the Music Auditorium (MACM Hall). The 25-minute work in one movement is inspired by the Thai legend of the Queen Sirimadi. Soloist was the Taiwanese cellist Pi-Chin Chien. The live recording of 2 June is now on Youtube.

Premiere of "Dialogues Cellestes" with soloists Antonio Meneses and Pi-Chin Chien cello and the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra

On 18 and 19th February "Dialogiues Cellestes", a Double Concerto for 2 Cellos and Orchestra by Swiss composer Fabian Müller had its world premiere. The title of “Dialogues Cellestes” is a play on words, a “heavenly” (céleste) dialogue between two cellos and symphony orchestra. Fabian Müller wrote it 2009 at the suggestion of the cellist Antonio Meneses and commissioned by Bruno Bischofberger, to whom the piece is dedicated.

21. /22.3. 2014: Inauguations-concert of the new «Prince Mahidol Hall»; Death & Transfiguration: Strauss, Brahms, Skriabin with Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO)

Richard Strauss’ impact on the orchestral world cannot be minimized. TPO honors this musical icon on his 150th birthday with series of performances of his works – the first of which is his famous “Death & Transfiguration”. Principal Guest Conductor Claude Villaret will also conduct Scriabins "Poème de l'Extase", and will be joined by German violin soloist Wolfgang Schröder, performing Brahms Violin Concerto.

7. / 7.6. 2014: "Bartok & Ogburn" with Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO) and Heidi Luosijärvi, Accordion

TPO has premiered many of American composer James Ogburn’s works and this concert features the world premiere of his Concerto for Accordion and Orchestra. Accordion soloist Heidi Luosujärvi  joins Principal Guest Conductor Claude Villaret for this memorable event.

15. / 16.8. 2014: "Symphonic Dances" with Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO) and Pichayapa Lueangtawikit, violin

Representative of Rachmaninoff’s late style with its shifting harmonies and rhythmic vitality, his Symphonic Dances will be performed by TPO together with Principal Guest Conductor Claude Villaret.  The program will also feature young Thai violin soloist Pitchayapa Lueangtawakit performing Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole for Violin and Orchestra.

5. / 6.9. 2014: "Beethoven & Beehthoven" with Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO) and Marco Schiavo, piano

The music of Ludwig Van Beethoven is popular the world over, and TPO features the mighty composer fully with performances of his Piano Concerto No. 3 and his Symphony No. 3.  Principal Guest Conductor Claude Villaret joins acclaimed Italian piano soloist Marco Schiavo for this memorable occasion. Also on the program is the world premiere of James J. Ogburn’s Transgression – Regression.
